The Blog
It’s a new month, and I’m so happy to be starting it off by launching my new and improved blog. I’m very excited about the new look and improved features!
The decision was made to have my blog professionally redesigned at the end of the summer. I really wanted a site that better reflected my personal style. I had a vague idea of what I was looking for in terms of aesthetics and functionality. However, I could have spent the rest of my life on the tech stuff with no hope of getting it right.
I feel so fortunate to have found Liz at Sweet Simplicity Designs! She was a pleasure to work with. She’s super creative, a great communicator, and meets all deadlines. Oh, and I should probably mention that she was very patient with all of my silly technical questions. She even created some Vimeo tutorials just for me!
Liz also referred me to Shaylee Smith for WordPress maintenance and Yoast and Popupally configuration. Shaylee was also very responsive, patient, and knowledgable. It’s a relief to know that the site will always be updated, safe, and secure.
I’ve heard designer horror stories from fellow bloggers and I’m grateful that I can say the whole process went very smoothly for me. It’s all because of Liz and Shaylee. (And no, I am not receiving any commission to say so. 😉 )
The Books
In other good news, the amount of time I was able to save by delegating all this techy stuff allowed me to do what it is I really love to do, READ! It’s true that I did slow down a bit. I have many excuses reasons, including spending nine nights in Italy and eating fabulous dinners too numerous to mention all of the family obligations you’d expect from any self-sacrificing woman, but I was able to read several great titles including these:
Stay tuned for full reviews and some exciting giveaways in the days to come.
I’d love your feedback on the new look and any suggestions you might have as well. I’m sure there will be little things that will need to be tweaked as I become more familiar with the functionality. But for now, I’m just happy to get back to blogging!
It looks great – very clean and easy to read, and I like the colour scheme. Looking forward to hearing what you think of His Bloody Project – I’m tempted by that one… 🙂
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed that book and hope to do the review tonight. I have a few hours to kill at JFK and hope to put it to good use.
Love the new blog! Very clean and easy to navigate! I’m glad to know of another great designer b/c the one I used for my blog is no longer designing custom blogs.
I’m also interested in reading His Bloody Project…I love true crime (though I know this one isn’t true, but feels like it).
Thank you, Sarah. I can definitely recommend Liz.
I really enjoyed His Bloody Project. It’s great to read a book written in a different format. I would not compare the book itself to Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society or 84, Charing Cross road but the experience in reading it was similar.
Love it, clean and stylish! I hope you enjoy blogging even more with your fabulous new look.
Thank you, Lory! As I’ve said, yours was one of the sites that inspired me!
The design and color scheme is very soothing to the senses. Easy to navigate with is huge plus, because if I have trouble getting around I will just jump off.
Best wishes……
-Sue
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like.
Welcome back to blogging Ann Marie!!! I’m so happy you are up and running again! I LOVE the new design so very much, it is so clean and fresh looking.
Can’t wait to read your reviews. I’ll be watching for them.
Thanks, Amanda! I was away for the weekend so I’m hoping to do lots of catching up this week!
